ADDITIONAL SERVICES

{Tipping is usually part of the culture and in most cases leaving a tip is good etiquette as well showing your appreciation for the good services you would be received, unless of course the service was really terrible, don't feel obliged to give a tip just because it is "customary". Most of the industries that involved in providing services, such as restaurants, pay wages as they expect the employee will receive tips. Therefore, it is quite nice of you to give tip when you get an amazing service}.

{This TOUR is based on fully guided option. The "Fully Guided Option" would give you a private English- speaking tour guide for all touring days. The "Local Guide Option" would provide you with an English- speaking driver, who would arrange your entry fees and also arrange the local English- speaking guides wherever there're available -- in this case that would include local guide in Jerash, Bethany & Beyond, and in Petra. Local guides are only available to hire in Jerash, Bethany & Beyond, and Petra only. Other sites are subject to availability.

If you want to choose the LOCAL GUIDED OPTION to make the trip less expensive than these offered prices, please contact our Travel Experts for a revised quote}.

Day 1

Arrival

Welcome to Jordan and start your amazing Holiday! Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Amman.

Overnight: Amman | Meals: None.

Day 2

City tour in Amman

Enjoy a city tour in Amman which was known as Rabbath Ammon (the Great City of the Ammonites) and was later renamed Philadelphia circa 250 BC. Amman is really two different cities - Western Amman boasts modernism with large shopping malls, chic restaurants and wide streets, whereas the bustling markets, Smokey cafés and crowded streets are more characteristic of East Amman.

The visit to the historic sites includes the Citadel on Jebel al Qala'a, to get a wonderful view of the city, Omayyad Palace, the Roman Theatre, Jordan’s National Archeological Museum, Roman Theatre, and Folklore Museum. In the afternoon, take a short drive through fertile Wadi Seer to visit the Tobaid hall of Qasr al-Abd. Return to your hotel in Amman for overnight.

Overnight: Amman | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 3

Um Qais, Ajloun & Jerash "Roman Jordan"

We head north, and visit the Decapolis city of Um Qais “Gadara” dramatic black-basalt Roman city sitting on a ridge with an atmospheric spot offering incredible view over the Sea of Galilee, Golan Heights and the Jordan Valley. Along with the Roman remains here, are the remnants of a late 19th century Ottoman village.

Drive onward through the Jordan Valley to Ajloun for a tour of the crusader era Saracen Castle built by the armies of Salah ad din. An important strategic fortress, helping to control the area between Damascus and Cairo, and one of the few castles built to defend against the Crusaders. Ajloun is remarkably well preserved and a prime example of Islamic military architecture of the 12th and 13th centuries. The castle occupies a commanding position on Jebel Auf with views over the countryside. In its heyday it had seven towers and was enclosed by a dry moat 15 meters deep. Inside it is a maze of interlinking rooms and tunnels. Although the castle was destroyed on several occasions by attacking forces and earthquakes, it was rebuilt each time and restoration work is ongoing.

In nearby Jerash, the world’s best-preserved Roman provincial city. At its heart is a dramatic colonnaded public space from where cobbled, arcaded streets rutted with the tracks of Roman cartwheels lead past shop fronts and bathhouses to an impressive theatre. At the edge of Jerash is the Temple of Artemis with its exquisitely carved Corinthian capitol.

Overnight: Amman | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 4

Azraq & Desert Castles (Umayyad Lodges- Amman "Islamic Jordan"

Head east to Azraq and tour the Roman Castle, which is solidly constructed out of black basalt. As result of its strategic location close to the borders of several countries and near to water supply, the site has been occupied by many different civilizations including the Umayyad, Ayyubids and Ottomans. T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia used the Castle as his military base in the winter during the Arab Revolt of the early 20th Century against the Turks.

Take short drive to visit the "Desert Castles" (8th Century Omayyad hunting lodges) which are stunning examples of the early Islamic art and Architecture. Qasr Amra is one of the best-preserved monuments, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The walls inside and ceilings are covered with fine fresco, and rooms are paved with colorful mosaics.

Finally, before driving to Amman, we will visit another Desert Castle “Qasr Kharanah”, a caravan station, built in the reign of Al- Walid- Bin Abdul-Malik in 710 AD, as there was a Kufic inscription at one of the door of rooms on the second floor. Some historians believe that the Palace was built before the Umayyads, and then restored and immunized by the Umayyads to benefit from it during the reign. We, finally return to Amman for overnight.

Overnight: Amman | Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.

Day 5

Mt. Nebo, Madaba, & Um Ar- Rasas "Byzantine Jordan"

Drive on to Mt. Nebo, from which Moses has the first glimpse at the Promised Land – a Panoramic view of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Jericho and the hills of Judea (if it's clear) the distant spires and domes of the Mount of Olives, and visit the contemporary church with its display of mosaics from the succession of pilgrimage churches on this venerated spot.

Drive onward to Madaba “the city of Mosaics' and home to the world’s largest collection of ancient mosaics. The Main attraction in Madaba is the Madaba Map in St George's Church, which represents the oldest map of Palestine and the Holy Land in existence and provides many historical insights to the region in the 6th Century. Explore further of Madaba to visit the Archaeological Park with its Byzantine and Herodian mosaics, Apostles Church and Madaba Museum.

To the east of Madaba is Umm Ar- Rasas, a very ancient site that is mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The rectangular walled city is mostly in ruins but does still include several buildings, as well as four churches and some beautiful stone arches. The main attraction is outside the city walls within the Church of St. Stephen, which contains a very large, perfectly preserved mosaic floor laid down in 718 AD. It portrays fifteen major cities of the Holy Land from both east and west of the Jordan River. This magnificent mosaic is second only to Madaba’s world famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Finally, head south to Petra overnight.

Overnight: Petra | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 6

The Nabatean City "Nabatean Jordan"

After breakfast, spend the day with your private guide exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Rose City of Petra. The ancient site rediscovered in 1812 AD, and it was first settled around the 6th century BC by the Nabataean tribe from Arabian Peninsula.

Start your magnificent archaeological treasure visit of the Rose City on foot through a narrow Siq, where the gorge leads you to reveal the famous facade of Al-Khazneh (the Treasury). Continuing your walk inside the ancient site and explore tombs, temples, an extraordinary Amphitheatre and a Roman colonnaded street.

If you still didn’t run out of energy, why not try to ascend the hundreds of rock-cut steps to Ad-Deir. Better known as the Monastery, Ad-Deir has a similar facade to that of the Treasury, but is quite bigger and the view from the top of the façade is breathtaking.

Overnight: Petra | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 7

The Nabatean City "Nabatean Jordan"

Today! It is Time to get off the beaten track for your second day touring in Petra! Al Madras “Secret way” is really off the tourist path, where it gives you the chance to enjoy a scenic view to the Treasury from above. You’ll be continuing discovering the site and visit the High Place of Sacrifice, Wadi Farasa, Great Temple and Royal Tombs. Once you finish your tour inside the ruins, you will follow the route down to the outer Siq back to the main gate.

Overnight: Petra | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 8

Wadi Rum Desert "Unchanging Jordan"

Drive to the moonscape terrain of Wadi Rum that described by T. E. Lawrence as "vast, echoing and God-like." A vast, peaceful landscape with amazing rock formations that stretches on colorful sandy desert. Enjoy 4x4 jeep safari inside the Protected Area across the sand dunes, while feeling the spirit of the spectacular scenic views of Wadi Rum. Tonight, we enjoy a Jordanian dinner with an overnight camping at private camp, where you'll have a chance to enjoy the dazzling night skies of Wadi Rum.

Overnight: Wadi Rum | Meals: Breakfast & Dinner.

Day 9

Karak Castle, Bethany & Dead Sea "Crusaders & New Testament Jordan"

After breakfast, drive to Karak, located south of Jordan, and the Crusaders had built a massive Fortress there during the period of their control over the Kings Way to be a strategically linked point between Shobak Castle and Jerusalem. It is an ancient Crusader stronghold; where it sits 900 meters above sea level and lies inside the walls of the old city. Karak Castle is a dark maze of stone- vaulted halls and endless passageways. The best preserved are underground and can be reached via a massive door. The Castle is an impressive insight into the architectural military genius of the Crusaders.

Descend to the Dead Sea, lowest point on the earth's surface, and tour the newly-excavated Maqdas Baptismal Site. Biblical archaeologists, working from clues supplied by the Madaba mosaic map, believe this to be the spot where John the Baptist lived and worked, and where Jesus was baptized in the waters of the Jordan River. The extensive water channels, cisterns and baptismal fonts, as well as the impressive size of the very early (3rd-4th Century) pilgrimage churches on this site, certainly suggest that this is where the earliest Christian pilgrims believed the Baptism took place. The walk past "Elijah's well" to the St. John church on the banks of the Jordan is a pleasure in itself, as you follow the winding trail through marshes of high reeds and tamarisk trees. Proceed to the Dead Sea hotel for overnight.

Overnight: Dead Sea | Meals: Breakfast.

Day 10

Relaxation at the Dead Sea

Relaxation time! You have the day free to relax by the shore of the lowest point on earth’s surface, for a chance to swim and float in its buoyant mineral-rich waters of the world’s oldest spa or try a detoxifying a mud bath. You could also indulge in a massage or spa treatment at your hotel.

Overnight: Dead Sea | Meals: Breakfast.
